De Heus successfully completes acquisition of CJ Feed & Care, marking a significant expansion in Asia
De Heus Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of CJ Feed & Care from CJ Cheil Jedang. This strategic step marks a significant milestone in De Heus’ long-term growth strategy and underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting farmers across Asia. The acquisition strengthens De Heus’ presence in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia, key markets within its existing portfolio, while also providing entry into two new strategically important markets: Korea and the Philippines. In total, the transaction comprises 17 feed mills and numerous livestock operations across the region.
Stronger Together - On the Farm, We Make the Difference
Real progress starts where it matters most: on the farm. By combining De Heus and CJ Feed & Care’s deep local expertise, our teams are better equipped than ever to help local farmers professionalize their operations, improve performance, and increase profitability. We strongly value our longstanding relationships with every farmer, distributor, and investment partner, and are fully committed to share our best products, services, knowledge, and practices with them. Moreover, we are particularly grateful for the ongoing support of the national governments of our host countries in our efforts to grow and develop the animal husbandry sector in these markets.
“We are very pleased to become part of Royal De Heus”, Jason Kim, CEO CJ Philippines said, “as it gives our organisation in the Philippines a stronger foundation for the future. It enables us to accelerate technology improvements and strengthen quality standards, while investing further in technical training and customer support. We believe this will help customers make practical progress in day-to-day farm performance and build more competitive businesses.”
Philippines – fast-growing market with tremendous potential
With the acquisition of two feed mills in the Philippines, De Heus realizes its long-term ambition to establish a physical presence in the country and further strengthens its position in the region. The Philippines is a dynamic and fast-growing market with tremendous potential. De Heus is committed to supporting independent livestock, fish, and shrimp farmers in building a resilient and sustainable animal protein sector.
Johan van den Ban, CEO De Heus Asia, about the acquisition: “We are grateful and excited about entering the Philippines. With great respect and a strong eagerness to learn more about Filipino culture and local industry practices, we look forward to working together with our employees and customers to write the long-term success story of De Heus Philippines. I’m confident about the future: together we will stay close to customers where it matters most, on the farm, and strengthen the way we share expertise and proven practices with customers and partners across the animal protein value chain in the region. This will support continued improvement for customers and contribute to a more resilient sector.”
